Brigham House operates out of the Historic “Tooma Store” Built in 1879.
My grandparents owned and operated the property as the Tooma General Store from 1949 through to 1969.
In those times local farming families and newly arrived soldier settlers relied heavily on the store for their everyday needs, both human and animal. I have fond memories as a child, of the store being the hub of the district.
Over the years the building has seen many changes. Possibly the most notable change occurred in the early 90’s when it was extensively remodelled and modernised to become “Possums Restaurant” and General store. It is these alterations which now make the building ideal as a Country Guest House.
Having that historic link with the building, I am delighted to again have it back in the family fold and to be able to share the house, its history, and the delights of the district with our quests.
