Snow and Ski
The Snowy Mountains snow resorts offer something for everyone. Perisher is the largest resort with the most lifts, Thredbo has the longest run and a beautiful village, and Selwyn Snow Resort is a fun family resort and a great place to learn. Selwyn Snow Resort is just over an hours drive and Thredbo is only 2 hours away.

The Man from Snowy River
A short 25 minute drive,
Corryong is famous as the final resting place of Jack Riley, considered by many to be the inspiration for the hero in Banjo Paterson's poem The Man from Snowy River. Visit Jack Riley's grave at the Corryong Cemetery or learn more about the legend at The Man from Snowy River Folk Museum.
Snowy River Bush Festival
Visit Corryong in April for The Man from Snowy River Bush Festival. Watch a field of talented riders in the legendary The Man from Snowy River Challenge, wander the open-air market, and be entertained by storytellers, bands and folk singers.
Fishing
With cold and calm waters, the Snowy Mountains offers fantastic conditions for fishing.
Try your hand directly across the road from our B&B in the Tumbarumba Creek, or take a short stroll across the bridge on Tooma Road to Mannus Creek. The Tooma Reservoir and the Tooma River also offer fantastic fishing
Rodeo
The annual Tumbarumba Rodeo happens on the first of January every year.
White Water Rafting
Base your group at Tooma to enjoy “world class” white water rafting on the Upper Murray River - The source of the might Murray River. Book through Rafting Australia who conduct the tours.
Trail Bike Riding
As for 4 Wheel Driving, the local state forests provide plenty of Off Road challenges for the trail bike enthusiast.
Canoeing and Kayaking
The Districts Upper Murray, Murray and Indi Rivers offer magnificent adventures for the Kayaking/ Canoeing enthusiast. Get dropped off in the mountains, paddle for as long as you like and select from one of the many pick up points downstream on the Murray.
Bush Walking
Just 15km to the Henry Angel Trackhead which is one of the set off points for the magnificent Hume & Hovel walking track. Why not treat yourself to a night or two of creature comfort before continuing your hike. With prior notice we can collect and deliver you to the track head.
Hang Gliding
Mount Elliot where the annual Corryong Cup is held, is just a 35 km drive from the Guest House. Anecdotally, the mountain offers some of the best hang gliding in Australia where 9000 agl is not uncommon. The valley system makes for spectacular flying and easy retrievals.
4 Wheel Driving
Take advantage of the many power line and access roads throughout the Maragle, Mannus and Green Hills State Forests, and get your 4-wheel vehicle doing what it was designed for. The scenery is breathtaking.
Water Skiing
Only 43km to Khancoban Dam (The last dam of the snowy Mountains Hydroelectric scheme) where you can enjoy hassle free water skiing from beginner to advanced. Never overcrowded. Take a picnic and enjoy the peace and serenity as you watch the sunset over the mountains.
Photography
With breathtaking views, and the abundant flora and fauna native to the district, the Upper Murray is a photographer’s paradise.
Golf
Mix with the kangaroos and glorious parrots on the picturesque Khancoban Course.
Walaregang, Walwa, Corryong and Tumbarumba also have great courses, so Tooma is the ideal spot to base yourself for a few days of relaxation on the course.
Tumbarumba to Rosewood
Rail Trail
The very first rail trail to be opened in NSW. Enjoy the tranquil 22km ride from Tumbarumba to Rosewood on the old Tumbarumba to Wagga Wagga railway line.
Hire an E or regular bike in Tumbarumba and enjoy a fun filled day taking in the scenic vistas across to Mt Kouisisko and the main range while lapping up the views offered by the rolling pastures of the adjacent farms.

Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail
Over 50 sculptures by artists from 13 countries this permanent installation stretches over 100kms from directly in front of Brigham House to the historic township of Adelong.
Curated by the people who bring us Sculpture By The Sea Bondi and Cottesloe annually, there is something to satisfy everyone's taste here with the "wellness walk” at Pilot Hill Arboretum being a must.
The trail includes works in the townships of Adelong, Batlow, Tumbarumba, Tooma, Talbingo , Tumut & Khancoban and also has sculptures at three of Tumbarumba's award winning cold climate wineries.
